The history of the University of Economics and Entrepreneurship began in 1993 as Khmelnitsky Economic Branch of the Odessa Institute of Business and Law under - candidate of pedagogical sciences, docent Alexander Kapitanets

In January 1997, the Commission of the Ministry of education of Ukraine checked the activities of the Khmelnitsky Institute of Economics and entrepreneurship for compliance with its licensing conditions and its ability to increase the licensed volume of recruitment from existing specialties. Positive conclusions were drawn on all tested issues.
03 April 1997 decision of State accreditation Commission of Ministry of education of Ukraine increased the licensed volume of training at the III level of accreditation for specialists in the direction 0501 "Economics and entrepreneurship" specialty 7.050107 "Economy of enterprises" and in the direction of 0502 "Management" specialty 7.050201 "Management in the industrial sector.
In June 1999, the State accreditation Commission of the Ministry of education of Ukraine accredited the training of specialists in enterprise Economics.
In 2000 the specialty 6.050200 "Management of the organizations" is accredited.
May 17, 2001 the Institute was issued a certificate of accreditation of training specialists in the III level of accreditation in the direction 0502 "Management" in the specialty 7.050201 "Management of organizations".
Implementing the provisions of the concept of continuous multi-level system of higher education, the Institute on the basis of the Department of training of junior specialist ,since 2000 began training of specialists of educational qualification level " "Associate Degree, on the basis of basic General secondary education in the direction of 0501" Economics and entrepreneurship "in the specialties: 5.050107" Enterprise Economics "and 5.050111"Accounting".
In 2002 according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 868 of July 01, 2002 Khmelnitsky Institute of economy and business is included in the list of institutes of higher learning which students are trained according to the training program of reserve officers. Students receive military training at the base National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bogdan Khmelnytsky and at the Department of Military Training of Kamianets-Podilsky National University named after Ivan Ogienko.

February 05, 2004 the Institute received a license to provide educational services in the specialties 6.050100 "Accounting and Auditing" and 7.050107 "Enterprise Economics", 6.050200, 7.050201 "Management of Organizations" and to train Junior specialists specialties 5.050107 "Enterprise Economics" and 5.050111 " Accounting»
In September 2004 and February 2005, private higher education institution "Khmelnitsky Institute of Economics and entrepreneurship" received a license to provide educational services in the specialties 6.050100 "Finance", 7.050106 "Accounting and auditing" and training of Junior specialists specialties 5.050104 "Finance", 5.080405 "Programming for electronic computers and automated systems".
In April 2005, the State accreditation Commission accredited (on duty) specialties 6.050200, 7.050201 " Management of Organizations "on educational and qualification levels" bachelor","specialist".
In the same year the specialty 7.050106 "Accounting and audit" is accredited and the license for rendering educational services in the specialty 7.050106 "Accounting and audit"is received.
According to the decision of the SAC of 21.04.2006, to prepare masters in specialties 8.050107 " Enterprise Economics " and 8.050201"Management of organizations".
In August 2006, the private higher education institution "Khmelnitsky Institute of Economics and entrepreneurship" was reorganized into a Private higher education institution "University of Economics and entrepreneurship". In the same year, the Department of training of Junior specialists was reorganized into the Economic College of Private higher education institution "University of Economics and entrepreneurship" – as a structural unit without the law of a legal entity.
Economic College of Private higher education institution "University of Economics and entrepreneurship" carries out educational activities, which provides training on the basis of basic and complete secondary education on the educational qualification level Associate Degree.
As of 2008, the Economic College of Private higher education institution "University of Economics and entrepreneurship" provided training in the following specialties:

02.07.2009 Private higher education institution "University of Economics and entrepreneurship" is recognized as accredited by the status of higher education institution of the III level of accreditation.
Also by the decision of SAC from 02.07.2009, the specialty 7.03050801 "Finance and credit" is accredited
26.05.2010, was accredited (duty) specialty 7.050201 "management of organizations", specialty 7.03060101 "Management of organizations and administration (by type of economic activity" (duty) specialty 6.050200, direction of training 6.030601 "management" (duty), specialty 7.050106 "Accounting and auditing" specialty 7.03050901 "Accounting and auditing" (duty) specialty 6.050100, direction of training 6.030509 "Accounting and auditing" (duty).
The University started and successfully operates a scientific school. Since 2010, the international scientific and production journal "Sustainable economic development" has been published. Together with educational institutions and research institutions of the Western region, the University has created an international innovation cluster "Competitiveness". Thanks to this, the education-science-practice chain is successfully implemented.
By the decision of the SAC of 30.06.2011, a license was obtained for the implementation of educational activities for the preparation of masters in the specialty 8.03050801 "Finance and credit and for the training of Junior specialists in the specialty 5.03050702 "Commercial activity".
According to the decision of the SAC of 23.02.2012, a license was obtained for the implementation of educational activities for the training of Junior specialists in the specialty 5.03050802 "Evaluation activities".
In July 2012, the State accreditation Commission accredited (on duty) for the Economic College of the PHEI"UEP" specialty 5.03050801 "Finance and credit" on the educational qualification level "Junior specialist" and specialty 8.03050801 "Finance and credit (for specialized programs)."
According to the decision of the SAC of 27.12.2012, Protocol № 100 was accredited specialty 8.03060101 " Management of organizations and administration (for economic activities) "(alternately and for the College of Economics specialty 5.03050901 "Accounting" (duty) and specialty 5.03060101 "organization of production".
In May 2013, the State accreditation Commission accredited (on duty) for the Economic College of PHEI"UEP" specialty 5.03050401 "enterprise Economics" on the educational qualification level "Junior specialist".
According to the decision of the SAC of 27.06.2013, was accredited training direction 6.030504 " enterprise Economics "(duty) and specialty 7.03050401" enterprise Economics "(duty) and training direction 6.030508" Finance and credit " (duty).
According to the decision of the SAC of 27.12.2013, Protocol № 108 accreditation Commission accredited for the Economic College of the PHEI " UEP "for the first level specialty 5.05010301" software Development " (duty).
Since August 2014, the head of the institution Oleg Zhelavsky. Prior to that, for eleven years he worked as Vice-rector for academic Affairs of the University of Economics and entrepreneurship. In 2008 Oleg Zhelavsky received the scientific degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences. Since 2012 associate Professor, doctor of philosophy. Author of about 30 scientific papers. He was awarded the badge "for the development of education".
In November 2015, the State accreditation Commission accredited (on duty) for the PHEI"UEP" training direction 6.030509 " Accounting and auditing "on the educational qualification level" bachelor "and specialty 7.03050901" Accounting and auditing "on the educational qualification level "bachelor".
Decision of the Accreditation Commission from 03 July 2017, Protocol № 126, subject to the outcome of the discussion at the meeting of the Accreditation Commission was recognized as accredited by the (duty) for the Economic College of Private higher educational establishment "University of Economics and entrepreneurship" specialty 5.03050801 "Finance and credit" branch of knowledge 0305 "Economics and entrepreneurship" specialty 5.03060101 "production" branch of knowledge 0306 "Management and administration".
For the purpose of scientific and methodological support of the educational process at the University established departments: Finance and credit, management, enterprise Economics, accounting and auditing, social and humanitarian disciplines, higher mathematics and computer science. They are headed by specialists with degrees of doctors, candidates of Sciences, considerable experience of teaching and high scientific level in the relevant specialty, and are the authors of scientific methodological developments.
In the PHEI "UEP" work continues on the opening of the graduate school.
The system of formation and selection of students is an important part of the continuous improvement of the quality of training for the market economy. The University has accumulated some experience in the formation of a contingent of students of economic specialties.
Among the variety of higher educational institutions of private ownership, the University has gained a significant reputation among the educational and business circles of our state and has produced more than 6750 specialists. University graduates work in various sectors of the economy, enterprises, organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership and organizational and legal forms, occupy prominent places in the workplace, in management structures, in the Executive authorities and local governments, develop their own business.
Since its inception to the present day, the University in its activities pays considerable attention to the staffing needs of Podillya and it is one of the few universities in Ukraine, which is constantly improving, introducing new technologies and is directed to the European educational level. The educational process at the University is adapted to the requirements of the modern labor market to ensure the development of innovative thinking among young people and future employment.
